WHAT?

A novel way for competitive cyclists to handle rubbish during bicycle races – in a container mounted below the bottle holder.

HVORDAN?

Ved at undersøge det eksisterende marked, skitsere og modellere i 3D har Lloyd Revald, i samarbejde med cykelrytter Kasper Asgren, gentænkt en traditionel flaskeholder. Designet er en integreret flaskeholder med beholder, hvori man nemt og ansvarligt kan samle sit skrald fra energibarer og gel mens man cykler. Med et enkelt drej kan beholderen afmonteres og tømmes ansvarligt efter cykelløb.

HOW?

By researching the existing market, sketching and 3D modelling, Lloyd Revald, in collaboration with the racing cyclist Kasper Asgren, has rethought a traditional bottle holder. The design is an integrated bottle holder with a container in which rubbish from energy bars and gel can easily and responsibly be collected while cycling. At the end of the race, the container can be dismantled and emptied responsibly with a single turn.

HVORFOR?

Cykelryttere har behov for energi under et cykelløb - men med det behov følger skrald, der ofte smides i naturen. Designet er et pionerprojekt, der skal medføre, at atleter aktivt kan tage ansvar for egen håndtering af skrald, uden indflydelse på bl.a. aerodynamik og vægt. Recovery er primært henvendt til profesionelle atleter, der i deres position kan influere tilskuere, seere og yngre generationer positivt og dermed til en sport og natur med mindre skrald. 

WHY?

Competitive cyclists require energy during a bike race, but that need creates rubbish that is often discarded in nature. The design is a pioneering project aimed at ensuring that athletes take active responsibility for their own handling of waste, without compromising e.g. aerodynamics and weight. Recovery is primarily aimed at professional athletes who in their position can positively influence spectators, viewers and younger generations and thus contribute to a sport and a natural environment with less waste.
