´I et lokalt samarbejde med Lystbækgaard i Ulfborg har designer Marianne Noer undersøgt egenskaberne og den historiske brug af ulden fra spælsau får. Processen førte hende til lokale uldspinnere, der håndspandt uld til garn, hvorefter hun sammen med rebmager Steen Franch har genoplivet en gammel tradition for at lave reb af fåreuld.
In collaboration with Lystbækgaard in Ulfborg, designer Marianne Noer has studied the properties and the historical use of the wool from Norwegian spælsau sheep. Together with rope maker, Steen Franch, she has revived an old tradition of making rope from sheep’s wool.
Interessen for at bruge fåreuld er dalende, derfor er det vigtigt at finde nye måder at bruge materialet. Marianne Noer vil vise materialets potentiale, genskabe vores tilknytning til det, udforske vores historie med uld og sætte det ind i nutidig kontekst.
There is a declining interest in using sheep’s wool, which is why it is important to find new ways of using the material. Marianne Noer wants to show the potential of the material, recreate our connection to it, explore our history with wool and put it into a contemporary context.
