The Wedge series is a furniture collection consisting of a lounge chair and a bench made in collaboration with Muubs.
Gennem sin designproces har Nicklas Fleissig Lohmann arbejdet med en gammel teknik til overfladebehandling, Shou Sugi Ban, hvor træet brændes for at beskytte det mod vejrpåvirkning, insekter og endda hæmme dets brandbarhed. De æstetiske principper, der kaldes Wabi Sabi, har inspireret designet til et fokus på proportioner og enkle samlinger.
In his design process Nicklas Fleissig Lohmann has worked with the ancient Japanese surface treatment technique, Shou Sugi Ban, where the wood is burned to give it protection from the weather and insects and it even makes it less susceptible to fire. The aesthetic principles of Wabi Sabi, with its focus on proportions and simple joints, have inspired the design.
Med Wedge serien har Nicklas Fleissig Lohmann forenet “flatpacking”, praktisk pakning uden behov for værktøj til samling, med et et unikt design.
With the Wedge series Nicklas Fleissig Lohmann has created a flat packed practical packing design that needs no tools for assembly, without compromising the unique character of the furniture.
