Projektet er rammen for en række æstetiske reparationsteknikker, som udfordrer og bryder med den traditionelle opfattelse af reparationer som noget uskønt. Fokus er på vores mest intime beklædning: undertøjet.
The project constitutes the framework for a series of aesthetic repair techniques that challenge and break with the traditional perception of repairs as something unattractive. Our most intimate garment, underwear, is the focus of the project.
Designeren har analyseret typiske skader på undertøj og eksperimenteret med forskellige reparationsteknikker. Med både en ’mild’ og en ’vild’ reparation udfordrer hun tøjets æstetiske univers, og forlænger holdbarheden for brugeren, der dermed kan knytte et følelsesmæssigt bånd til den reparerede genstand.
The designer has studied typical damages to underwear and has experimented with various repair techniques. Her “mild” as well as her “wild” repairs challenge the aesthetic universe of the garment, which extends the durability for the user, thus creating an emotional tie to the repaired garment.
En træt elastik i trussen eller en flænge i undertrøjen. Vi slider og smider tøj ud for et godt ord. Med projektet skaber designeren ny værdi i tøjet og forlænger produktets levetid, så vi forbruger mindre.
A worn elastic in the knickers or a tear in the vest. We wear out and discard clothes at the drop of a hat. With this project the designer creates new value for the garments and extends the life of the product, thus reducing consumption.
